Pre-Nuptial Agreements and Cohabitation Agreements

Pre-nuptial agreements are a fast changing and developing area of law and the courts are becoming more and more willing to recognise them when resolving divorce settlements. The purpose of a pre-nuptial agreement is to set out the parties intentions as to how property and assets should be divided if their marriage ended therefore they can be particularly useful to people with significant personal wealth or for people marrying from the second time.

Cohabitation agreements provide a similar arrangement for unmarried couples and can prevent drawn out and expensive legal battles on the breakdown of a relationship of an unmarried couple.

If you would like to find out more about either pre-nuptial or cohabitation agreements please  arrange an appointment with one of our solicitors on 0161 4297251 and we will be happy to discuss with you your individual requirements and come up with an agreement ideally suited to your personal circumstances.
